SMMUSD Conducting Surveys on Malibu Campus Plan

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is conducting an online survey of Malibu community members to gather input for the Malibu High School campus plan.

The survey will be combined with those taken by Malibu Pathway parents, students and administrators. The survey will be used to guide planning for the new middle school (grades six through eight) and high school (grades nine through 12).

The surveys ask community members questions about their current use of the high school facilities, which spaces need improvement, how to prioritize those that need changing, and asks for comment on the facilities that need enhancement to increase school and community use. The district is asking that surveys be completed by February 1.

“The surveys inform us in aspects of planning the new Malibu Middle and High School campus,” said Carey Upton, chief operations officer for the district. “They will also help us understand the role of the campus in the larger community.”

The surveys are one of many upcoming opportunities for community members, parents, students and faculty/staff to participate in planning the reimagined schools.

Following are the survey links. The surveys for parents, students and administrators are being sent by email.
